Games Played. Total regular season games appeared in.
G
Goals. Total goals scored across all situations.
A
Assists. Primary and secondary assists combined.
PTS
Points. Goals + Assists.
+/−
Plus/Minus. Goals scored by the player's team minus goals allowed while at even strength. Positive is good.
PIM
Penalty Minutes. Total minutes spent in the penalty box.
Shooting
SHOTS
Shots on Goal. Total shots that required a save or resulted in a goal.
SH%
Shooting Percentage. Goals ÷ Shots on Goal × 100. League average is ~10–11%. Sustained rates above 15% typically regress toward average.
ixG
Individual Expected Goals. An estimate of how many goals a player should have scored based on shot volume and position. Forwards estimated at 10.5% conversion, defensemen at 6.5% (point shots convert at lower rates). Source: positional model — true shot-quality ixG requires zone/angle data.
Ice Time & Usage
TOI
Time on Ice per Game. Average minutes per game across all situations. Elite forwards typically see 18–22 min.
PP TOI
Power Play Time on Ice per Game. Average PP minutes per game. Top PP units typically see 3–5 min/game.
PK TOI
Penalty Kill Time on Ice per Game. Average shorthanded minutes. High PK deployment signals coach trust defensively.
OFF ZONE %
Offensive Zone Faceoff %. Share of a player's faceoffs that start in the offensive zone. Higher % = sheltered deployment; lower % = tough defensive minutes.
Special Teams
PP G / A / PTS
Power Play Goals / Assists / Points. Production while the team has a man advantage (5v4 or 5v3).
SH G / PTS
Shorthanded Goals / Points. Production while the team is killing a penalty. Rare and high-value.
P/60 PP
Points per 60 minutes on the Power Play. Normalizes PP production by time to compare players with different PP deployment.
Advanced (via Natural Stat Trick)
CF%
Corsi For %. Share of all shot attempts (on goal, missed, blocked) taken by the player's team while they're on ice at 5v5. Above 50% = possession edge. A proxy for territorial dominance.
xGF%
Expected Goals For %. Share of expected goals belonging to the player's team at 5v5. More refined than CF% — weights shots by location and type. Above 50% = outchancing opponents.
P/60 5v5
Points per 60 minutes at Even Strength. Production rate at 5v5, removing the influence of PP/PK time. Best measure of even-strength offensive impact.
Physical
HITS
Hits. Physical checks delivered. High hit totals often correlate with defensive/physical roles rather than offensive production.
BLOCKS
Blocked Shots. Shots blocked by the skater (not the goalie). High blocks = defensive commitment, common in defensive-minded players and d-men.
TAKEAWAYS
Takeaways. Pucks stolen from opponents via stick checks or physical play.
GIVEAWAYS
Giveaways. Pucks lost to opponents. High giveaway counts can indicate riskier puck-handling tendencies.
